class Cards
Connecting teachers and students
Project
This was my first design project (ever!). While my craft has grown substantially since then, I’ve included this project because it highlights what keeps me grounded as a designer.
Tasked with redesigning the arts curriculum at Dearborn STEM Academy, a school located in Boston, MA, my classmates and I participated in co-creation exercises with students meeting 6 times throughout the semester. We then independently designed solutions.
During this process, I learned student and teacher relationships are essential to learning experiences. However, students often don’t feel comfortable talking to teachers. With this in mind, I created class cards, an open-source, flexible tool, to help students better connect with their teachers.
